Wakeboarding is a relatively new boardsport, created from a combination of water skiing and snowboarding techniques. As in water skiing, the rider is towed behind a boat, but instead of skis, the rider uses a single wide board standing sideways as on a snowboard or skateboard.

The wake of the towing boat is used as hits or ramps would be in other boardsports. Steering the board the rider can move outside of the wake, then cut rapidly in toward the wake, hitting it and launching themselves into the air.

WakeBoarding
, the world's most widely read wakeboarding magazine, is published 9 times a year by World Publications. Mike Witt, the Art Director of WBM, faced with a re-design decided to use Typeco fonts to freshen the look of their action sports magazine.

WBM uses the 25 fonts of Super Duty as their work-horse display font. They supplement these with Chunkfeeder and Glyphic Neue to give their publication a bold look in keeping with the style of the sport.
